A touch of RED

How to spice up an all grey formal look for work? Mix different patterns of grey, use a bold color and wear some interesting shoes. Here u can see what I'm wearing to work today. I chose RED is the bold color for today; it shows my love and passion for CRUSH. ;) Do u like my look?

Spring inspiration: Lookbook menswear H&M

Since the weather has gone crazy cold (yet again), I could not help myself in looking around for some Spring inspiration. Here you find my favorite pics of the H&M  menswear lookbook Spring 2013. I'm loving all these prints and mixture of textures. I can't wait for the Spring to come!!

Essentials for a flawless skin

Because I am so tired of this winter weather and totally ready for spring, I want to share my beauty products that give me that flawless - and a bit of a sun kissed - skin. So here is what I did:
First, I used an exfoliating crub by Clinique, this makes my skin smooth and it feels cool and clean. Then I apply Superdefense for dry to very dry skin on my face and I use 8 hour cream for my lips. For an even skin I use Forever foundation by Dior, this foundation comes in the right pigment for my skin and it also covers very well. I use Secret Concealer by Laura Mercier for under my eyes and I follow up with the Terracota Light Sheer Bronzing Powder for that bronzed look. I contour my face by drawing a 3 on both sides of my face, so I put bronzer on my forehead, under my cheeks and my neck. Et voila, a flawless bronzed skin!

1.       Exfoliating scrub – Clinique
2.       Superdefense Moisturizer – Clinique
3.       8 Hour Cream – Elizabeth Arden
4.       Forever Foundation - Dior
5.       Secret Concealer - Laura Mercier
6.       Terracota Light Sheer Bronzing Powder – Guerlain
(I also used Maybeline Studio Eyeliner, Maybeline Falsies Mascara, Chanel Coco Shine pink lipstick)

Hotspot in Rotterdam: Zino

Until March 10 it is Restaurant Week again. As you might know this means that you can have a 3-course menu for a nice price. Me and my friends went to Zino, a small cute restaurant located in the north of Rotterdam which uses fresh and biological products for its menu.

Inside it looks warm and cosy and the vibe is very relaxed. Don't forget to look at the ceiling when you're inside, because it looks pretty unique! However, the design of the ceiling is made to mute the sound.

The special Restaurant Week menu in Zino was delicious, especially the appetizer and the main course (I was not a big fan of the desert though). As an appetizer we got sort of tapas including octopus and small meatballs. The main course consisted of stewed steak and a Italian sausage with braised lentils and a caponata of red onion, celery and eggplant. Yummy!

Crush definitely suggests you to visit Zino!

Military inspired male looks

One of the trends that I'm particularly interested is the army-look. Here two pictures of military inspired looks on recent runway shows. They are almost polar opposites. How do you incorporate the army in your fashion?

Fashion Week wrap up

The gorgeous silk night gowns and velvet dresses by Louis Vuitton were one of my favorite looks of the last day of Fashion Week in Paris. I already knew that wearing your pyjamas during the day is a very cool thing to do, glad to see that Marc Jacobs shares the same idea haha! Now what are we going to do with all this inspiration we have from the runway shows? Obvious, right? We are going to wear pyajama outfits!

Chanel dominates the world!

Currently my lovely fiance and I are moving to a new apartment which means LOADS OF WORK. It also means that I wear the same clothes with paint stains all day long. Watching the Chanel show a/w 2013 online was definitely a welcome break during the paintwork! For a moment I could forget where I was and I could marvel myself at the beautiful collection.

Acccording to Karl Lagerfeld the Chanel show is all about the 'globalisation of fashion'. The collection stands for a global look. What is the global Chanel look then? Well, coats (short at the front, long at the back) with hoods, overknee bikerboots (love it!), skater-like pleated skirts, leather gloves with studs, beautiful messenger bags and my little favorite: the globe bag!

See below a small selection of my favorite Chanel looks and items!
